Reiki Level II - Practitioner Level
How is Reiki Level Two different from Level One?
Reiki Level Two training and attunements begin a deeper process of apprenticeship. This is the preparation necessary to make Reiki available on a greater scale.
Three symbols are taught at this level. These are potent tools for focusing energy for specific purposes, including the ability to send Reiki over distances, as well as forward and back in time.
Reiki Level Two students learn more specifically about the ethics of touch and boundaries. Encouraged to journey deeply into themselves, they clear away unneeded habits and energies that are distracting to them and their clients during a session. Self-control is the focus of this level. Student explore this concept, especially as it relates to beginning a practice of Reiki on a professional basis.
How long should I wait after Level One to receive Level Two?
Generally, one should wait at least twenty-one days after the Level One attunement to allow for clearing of stagnant energy from the field. It is better to wait the six months that it takes to fully integrate the Reiki Level One energy before continuing the journey with Level Two.
Some teachers offer Reiki I and II together in a weekend. Other teachers offer all three levels over three days. While this is not harmful, it can be quite intense and overwhelming. It is my philosophy that each level has its gifts of wisdom to impart.
Each student moves through the levels at a pace that is appropriate to his or her needs. Ultimately, readiness is a decision that I will make in conjunction with the student.
What if I’m not interested in opening a practice?
For those who do not wish to offer Reiki on a professional level, the Reiki Level Two attunement provides the energy for a deeper degree of self-awareness and empowerment.
It is also very important for some people (who have loved ones far away) to send Reiki over long distances.
What is covered in the Reiki Level Two class?
Reiki Level Two training includes a focus in these areas:
- Grounding & Centering exercises
- Review of the history of Reiki
- Touch therapy ethics
- Transference, Counter-transference, and boundary issues
- The meaning and use of the three Level II Reiki symbols
- The chakra system of the body
- Setting up a Reiki practice
- Hands-on Reiki techniques
What if I want to open a Reiki practice of my own?
A certification process is available for those who wish to start their own Reiki practice.
