St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Dedham, MA had a vision for a memorial set of advent paraments. The altar guild had worked diligently with a silkscreen artist, but all parties agreed that silk-screening would not have the visual impact they were looking for. When I was approached for the project, I was immediately struck with the potential for high drama in the design they had chosen. I explained to the guild that the application of metallic threads in thread-painting and the addition of Swarovski crystals would bring their vision to life for their Advent season. The shooting star on the frontal is in honor of the gentleman that was memorialized.
